This is easy to make, very tasty, and is quite popular at parties as a snack/filling casual meal
You will need:
1kg Mince (chicken, pork or beef would be popular)
1 packet taco spices (for 500g mince)
1 jar doritos salsa (of your prefered spicyness)
1 or more bags of plain corn chips.
You will also need a large frying pan that can hold 1kg of mince.
Brown the mince.
stir the packet of taco spice into the mince.
Stir in the jar of doritos salsa
allow to simmer and stir regularly until sauce is somewhat thickened.
freeze into convenient ice cubes at this time to store for later.
once defrosted, or cooked, sprinkle shredded cheese (to taste) into the mix and mix lightly so that the cheese is still partially seperate from the mince and sauce.
scoop up with the corn chips to eat.
This recipe makes enough mince for a small party (6 to 10 people) when combined with other snackables.
It makes several meals or a meal for several people, and stores quite well in the freezer.
note:
As well as freezing the cooked mince, the cheese can be frozen before starting this recipe.
The taco mix and corn chips should be stable on the shelf for years.
This means you can have the components sitting in your freezer/pantry ready for an emergency dinner party.
